A stronger foundation
A missing tooth changes more than your smile. It can affect how you chew, how you speak and how comfortable you feel each day. Dental implants offer a way to rebuild support for replacement teeth, with treatment designed around the health of your mouth and your goals.
A dental implant is a small post placed in the jawbone to act as an artificial tooth root. In a typical single-tooth restoration, a connector called an abutment joins the implant to a custom crown. Implants can also support a bridge or a full arch, or help retain a removable denture.
A conventional bridge usually relies on neighboring teeth for support. An implant-supported replacement uses implants instead. Unlike a conventional denture that rests on the gums, an implant restoration gains stability from its connection to the jaw. The design determines whether your replacement teeth are fixed or removable.
For North Shore patients considering dental implants in Danvers, MA, the first step is a clinical examination and imaging. Your Foreon dentist evaluates your bone, gums, bite and overall health, then discusses suitable options, expected healing and ongoing care. The goal is tooth replacement that supports your appearance and everyday function, with a plan you understand before treatment begins.

Thoughtful planning. Connected care. Attention to the details that matter to your smile.

Foreon uses 3D imaging and computer-guided implant surgery. Planning considers the position of the implant and the replacement tooth it will support.
Care is coordinated from consultation through the final restoration in one practice, so the surgical and restorative parts of your plan work together.
Bone grafting, sinus lifts and socket preservation are part of Foreon’s service offering. A more complicated starting point deserves an individual assessment.

Long-term care includes cleaning guidance and follow-up to monitor the gums, implant, bite and restoration.
Before the implant
A stable foundation starts with the surrounding bone and gums. Your dentist will explain whether preparation should happen before or alongside implant placement.
Builds up areas with inadequate bone volume to help prepare a site for an implant.
Explore bone grafting ↗May create space for added bone beneath the sinus when the upper back jaw needs more support.
Explore sinus lifts ↗Places grafting material in an extraction socket to help limit changes in the bone as it heals.
Explore socket preservation ↗A detail worth discussing
For selected immediate implant cases, grafting may address the space around an implant at both bone and soft-tissue levels. Ask whether this approach is relevant to your treatment.
Ask about dual-zone grafting ↗If a tooth cannot be saved, its removal and the timing of replacement are considered together.
Understand extraction & implant timing ↗Gum health and tissue shape matter for cleaning, comfort and the appearance of your restoration.
Discuss gum preparation ↗Clear steps. Personal attention.
Your starting point is individual. Your next steps should be clear.
Share your concerns, health history and goals. Your dentist examines your teeth, gums and bite.
Imaging helps assess bone, nearby anatomy and the space needed for your replacement teeth.
Extractions, grafting or gum treatment help prepare the site when your plan calls for them.
Your dentist places the implant in the planned position and explains your recovery instructions.
Time allows the implant to integrate with your jawbone. Temporary tooth options depend on your case.
A custom crown, bridge or full-arch restoration completes the planned tooth replacement.
Regular visits and daily cleaning help protect the implant, surrounding tissues and restoration.
A timeline built around healing. Treatment often takes several months; preparation and healing needs can add time. Immediate placement or a temporary tooth may be possible for selected patients.

Missing or failing teeth, or a denture that feels unstable, can be reasons to explore implant treatment. Your dentist will look at the whole picture before recommending care.
Been told you have bone loss?
That does not automatically rule out implants. Grafting may be possible. An examination and imaging can help clarify your options.
Understand your investment
Your treatment estimate should reflect your individual care.
Cost depends on the number of missing teeth, implant and restoration type, materials, complexity, and any extraction, bone grafting, gum treatment or sedation needed. Insurance benefits may affect what you pay out of pocket.

Good questions. Clear answers.
There is a lot to consider. Start here, then bring your own questions to your consultation.
Implants are intended for long-term tooth replacement, but no implant is guaranteed to last a lifetime. Gum health, bone support, smoking, bite forces and maintenance all matter. Crowns, bridges and denture components can need repair or replacement over time.
Treatment often spans several months. The timeline depends on extractions, grafting, healing and the type of final restoration. At your consultation, your dentist can explain the likely stages and when a temporary tooth may be possible.
Local anesthesia is used during placement. Soreness and swelling can occur afterward, and your dentist will provide an individualized pain-management and recovery plan. Discuss anxiety and comfort options before treatment.
Sometimes. Immediate placement depends on the extraction site, bone, infection and the ability to stabilize the implant. Placement, a temporary tooth and a finished permanent restoration are different steps; they are not always completed together.
Bone loss does not automatically rule out implant treatment. Grafting or a sinus lift may be an option, depending on your anatomy and health. An examination and imaging are needed to assess what is appropriate.
Implants can support a fixed full-arch restoration, such as All-on-X, or help retain a removable overdenture. Your dentist will compare these options and evaluate which existing teeth can be preserved.
An implant is a support placed in the jawbone. A denture is a set of replacement teeth. Conventional dentures rest on the gums, while an implant retained overdenture connects to implants and is removed for cleaning. A fixed implant arch is removed by the dental team when needed.
Your estimate depends on the number of implants, restoration, materials and any preparation or additional care. A consultation allows the team to outline your treatment and discuss costs specific to your situation.
Benefits vary by plan and procedure. Some plans may contribute toward parts of treatment, while exclusions and annual limits can apply. Ask the Foreon team to help review your benefits and confirm your expected out-of-pocket costs.
Follow your dentist’s instructions for brushing, cleaning between teeth and cleaning under your restoration. Attend recommended maintenance visits. Contact your dental team if you notice persistent pain, bleeding, swelling or a loose restoration.
Smoking can interfere with healing and increase the risk of implant complications. Tell your dentist about tobacco and nicotine use so you can discuss risk reduction and whether treatment is appropriate.
