Protect what remains

When a tooth needs more than a filling.

A crown covers the visible portion of a tooth to rebuild its shape, restore function, and protect weakened structure. Your dentist will determine whether full coverage is the right option.

01 / FRACTURE

Cracked or broken teeth

Full coverage may help reinforce a tooth when enough healthy structure remains for a predictable restoration.

02 / LARGE FILLINGS

Heavily restored teeth

A large or failing filling can leave the remaining tooth walls vulnerable to normal chewing forces.

03 / ROOT CANAL

Teeth needing protection

A tooth treated with root canal therapy may need a crown to restore strength and function.

04 / WEAR

Worn or weakened teeth

Significant wear can change tooth shape, bite relationships, and the amount of structure available for repair.

05 / APPEARANCE

Shape or color concerns

When structural and esthetic concerns overlap, ceramic crowns can restore more natural proportions and color.

06 / CONVENIENCE

Avoiding multiple visits

For eligible cases, CEREC allows Foreon to complete the final ceramic crown without a lab-made temporary.

Every tooth is different: A crown is not automatically the right treatment for every damaged tooth. Foreon evaluates the remaining structure, bite, gums, and long-term outlook before recommending care.

A closer look at the crown procedure.

This educational video explains how a crown covers and reinforces a prepared tooth. Foreon’s CEREC workflow replaces traditional impressions and laboratory waiting with digital design and in-office milling.

Prepare the tooth

Damaged or decayed material is removed and the tooth is shaped to support the restoration.

Design the restoration

A digital model helps your dentist plan the crown’s fit, contours, contact points, and bite.

Bond the final crown

The ceramic restoration is tried in, adjusted, polished, and securely bonded.

The exact steps, appointment length, and whether same-day treatment is appropriate depend on your tooth and clinical examination.

From scan to finished crown

One visit. Four considered steps.

CEREC brings the design and fabrication workflow into the office while your dentist remains responsible for the diagnosis, preparation, fit, bite, and final result.

01 / EXAMINE

Evaluate the tooth

Your dentist examines the tooth, surrounding tissue, existing restorations, and bite before recommending coverage.

02 / PREPARE

Remove damage and shape

Decay or failing material is removed and the remaining tooth is prepared to support the crown.

03 / DESIGN

Scan, design, and mill

A digital impression creates the model used to design and mill the ceramic restoration in the office.

04 / FINISH

Fit, adjust, and bond

Your dentist checks contacts and bite, makes needed refinements, then bonds and polishes the final crown.

Why choose CEREC at Foreon

Efficiency without skipping the details.

Same-day technology changes the timeline—not the need for thoughtful diagnosis, precise preparation, careful design, and a properly balanced bite.

01

Digital impressions

A precise scan replaces traditional impression material for the CEREC design workflow.

02

In-office milling

Your custom ceramic restoration is fabricated at Foreon instead of being sent to an outside laboratory.

03

No temporary phase

Eligible cases move from preparation to the final crown during the same appointment.

04

Customized ceramic

Shape, shade, contours, and bite are refined around your neighboring teeth and individual smile.

Same-day crown questions

CEREC crowns, answered clearly.

For eligible cases, Foreon can digitally scan, design, mill, fit, and bond the final ceramic crown during one appointment. Your dentist will confirm whether the same-day workflow is appropriate after examining the tooth.
CEREC uses a digital scan to create the model for the restoration, avoiding traditional impression material for this workflow.
Usually not when a CEREC crown is completed in one visit, because the final restoration is milled and placed before you leave.
The crown’s shade, shape, contours, and proportions are customized to work with neighboring teeth and your overall smile.
When a tooth is extensively restored, cracked, worn, or has lost significant structure, another filling may not provide enough support. A crown covers the tooth more completely.
There is no guaranteed lifespan. Longevity depends on the underlying tooth, bite forces, grinding or clenching, oral hygiene, diet, crown material, and routine dental care.
Coverage varies by plan, diagnosis, and benefit limits. Foreon can help review your plan details and estimated out-of-pocket costs before treatment.
